  • Volume of Earth Removed: estimated 817,999 Cubic Yards

  • Permit: None. This site requires a serious investigation into the Town of Plymouth. The Town has removed a large volume of sand and gravel or allowed others to do so. The Town obtained 100 acres from three landowners in approximately the year 2000 by an eminent domain taking. The purpose of the taking was to construct a wastewater treatment facility. Sand and gravel was removed to site the treatment facility. The site is still being mined for sand and gravel by unknown owners and operators. On February 22, 203, CLWC requested enforcement from the Building Inspector. The request is here. The request was denied and the request ignored. The Town has provided no information about the volume of sand and gravel removed and where the proceeds from the sale may have gone. Witness observations report a continued mining operation here and expansion on to the 100 acres.
